Stage Latino - Festival en Broadway (Sábado)

A newly created Capitol Hill Pride Festival on Broadway is coming to Seattle's Capitol Hill on June 27, 2009. The Capitol Hill Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, the day before the huge Seattle Pride Parade and PrideFest at Seattle Center on Sunday.

The event will shut down Broadway Avenue for two blocks between E. John St. and E. Harrison St. (Broadway Grill to Rite Aid) from 11am — 4pm for an all ages festival celebrating diversity and community Pride with booths, vendors and entertainment. The theme is “Family” and the festival will be open to everyone, LGBT, straight and anyone of any background.

Performances from Seattle Men's Chorus, PSKS Performers, and New Wizard of OZ Performers. Also appearing are Sean Paul from LeFaux at Julia's, Sasha Scarlett, Arnoldo Drag Chanteuse, Aleska Manila, Smokee, Isaac Scott, Cookie Corsett, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and other guest performers including the music of Nasty Habits, DJ "Lu Ying", FT. WOW! and local gay DJs. The afternoon will also bring a special Miss LeFaux Pageant to the festival. Performances will also include "The Search for the Best Drag and Celebrity Talent Contest" with appearances by RuPaul’s drag queens Shannel and Ongina.

Mark “Mom” Finley will be MC for the first annual Capitol Hill Pride Festival on Broadway. Mark Finley is recognized in Seattle for two decades of over-the-top performances but more importantly a career of non-stop activism and advocacy and will be presenting the historical moments from Stonewall’s 40th anniversary through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to current times.
