Arauco is a masterwork play by Spain's greatest playwright, Lope de Vega.  The equal of any Shakespeare history play, Arauco is set at the very roots of the complex clash of cultures living at the heart of Latin identity in the Americas.
 
1557   An army lands on the coast of Chile.  At its head, a twenty one year old general, sent to regain control of Arauco, a region fiercely defended by the Mapuche people.  Three years earlier, the Mapuche destroyed the first wave of Spanish invaders killing their commander, Valdivia.  Now they must face a new invasion led by a youthful but seasoned campaigner.

Rehearsals are flexible, mostly weekends and evenings Feb/March
Performances at Broadway Performance Hall March 16,17,18
Performed in Spanish with English super-titles
 
We are still seeking two male leads and six male supporting roles. 
We are also seeking male and female actors of all ages for small and non-speaking roles, some involving combat and or dance.

Garcia Hurtado de Mendoza, @21 yrs old          
Felipe, his younger brother
Alonso de Ercilla y Zuniga @23yrs old
Mapuche (indigenous Chilean's) some are young men, some could be older:
